  • Description

    Tree, 35 m x 50 cm. Calyx dark green, petals light green, the edges curled under, androecial hood white, anthers yellow. Nectar glistens on inside of ligule but apparently not produced in great quantity. Inflorescences lowered to ground, carried to camp and then the stems cut under water. The flowers opened at ca. 6:30 p.m. Photographed in Eaux Claires. Flowers smell like rotten cabbage. [Photos]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
