  • Description

    Pileus 3-7 cm broad, convex/infundibuliform with inrolled margin, dry, matted tomentose to matted fibrillose, sometimes subsquamulose at margin, sometimes appendiculate with veil fragments, white or with scattered yellow to gray tints, staining yellow with bruising. Flesh white, changing to yellow when exposed, up to 4 mm thick, with mild odor and bitter taste. Lamellae decurrent, close to subdistant, up to 5 mm broad, thin, white, with subfimbriate edges. Stipe 4-10 cm long, 0.7-1 cm broad, ±central to barely eccentric, ±equal to tapering slightly downward, tough and fibrous, dry, heavily appressed tomentose to subsquamulose from veil remains, white to pale grayish yellow; interior white, solid, unchanging.
