Habitat
Arboreal restinga on white sand.

Description
Slender treelet 5 m. tall growing in disturbed restinga on white sand. Trunk dark brown, 2 cm. in diameter. Branches few, horizontal, plagiotropic; branches and twigs dark reddish brwn with pale brown lenticels. Leaves plane, dark shiny green on upper surface; somewhat lighter green, shiny on lower surface. Flowers solitary to 3, in axils on last and current season's growth, creamy white. Fruits light red-orange. Long-styled plant. Flowers and fruits in alcohol. Voucher for chemical analysis. Wood voucher.
