United States of America. Wyoming. Albany Co. Medicine Bow - Routt National Forest: south bank of Middle Crow Creek 0.1 mile southeast of where Vedauwoo Glen Road (R.S. road 700) crosses creek; 17 air miles southeast of Laramie.

Habitat
South bank of stream, shaded by adjacent conifers and small rocky slope; moist soil, with Picea glauca, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Salix, and Carex spp.; uplands dominated by Pinus ponderosa and Artemisia tridentata.

Description
Small, conical trees to ca. 12 meters tall; cones pendant, deep reddish-brown; several dozen mature trees and numerous saplings observed; a few plants with cones showing possible introgression from P. engelmannii. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
