Large handwriting in black ink [specimen probably was used as an educational aid]: Short-leaf yellow pine, Pinus echinata Miller = P. mitis Michaux. Range So. N.Y. to Fla., west to Illinois, Kansas & Texas. Valuable heavy dark-orange-yellow.
