    Description written directly on this NY sheet, not on label: Stems 6-8 dm. long and rooting at the lower nodes, the nodes appressed silky pubescent, very scabrous, especially below the nodes; sheaths very rough; blades softly pubescent beneath, usually pappilose-hispid on the upper surface, up to 8 cm. long and 2.5 cm. wide, acute; inflorescence up to 1.5 dm. long, of numerous racemes.
