    Deciduous forest on shallow soil.

  • Description

    Tree 6 m tall, the trunk 7 cm diam; bark pale grey, smooth (resembling Fagus grandifolia bark); flowers white. There are 15 individuals of this species visible from this spot (easily spotted while in flower), scattered on both sides of the river. The largest is about 18 m tall and 30 cm diam. They appear to be spontaneous and spreading vigorously. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
