Habitat
Edge of forest along internal road in the Garden, opposite the Legume collection, growing up out of stone well protecting native trees of Liriodendron tulipfera, Fagus grandifolia.

Description
Sapling 4.5 m tall, 4 cm in diameter. At least 3 smaller plants of this species escaped along this same edge. Crushed foliage nearly odorless or with lighter and less offensive small than Phellodendron amurense, which it greatly resembles. A single inflorescence present apparently female, with white te[als and green ovary, the exact stage of development not certain.

Edge of forest along internal road in the Garden, opposite the Legume collection, growing up out of stone well protecting native trees of Liriodendron tulipifera, Fagus grandifolia. Sapling 4.5 m. tall, 4 cm. in diameter. At least three more smaller plants of this species escaped along this same edge. Crushed foliage nearly odorless or with lighter and legs offensive smell than Phellodendron amurense, which it greatly resembles.
