United States of America. Alaska. Northwest Arctic Borough. Baird Mountains on the SW edge of the Brooks Range, 98 air km NE of Kotzebue, drainage of the Squirrel River.

Habitat

Scree slopes and flatlands of flarks and palsas, with scattered meadow and open woodland dominated by Salix and Alnus.

Description

Shrub ca 1 m tall; stems red, lustrous; forming large colony in depression. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
