Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Chiquitos Prov. Valle de Tucavaca, 30 km ENE of Santiago de Chiquitos.

Habitat
In shade near river. Dry forest near river in large flat valley, regenerating after floods in 1979 which killed all but a few of the species of large trees. Locally common.

Herb. Cupule purple outside, flowers within white. Most plants sterile. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
