tes robusti, ferruginei, parum tomentosi; rami ascen-
dentes , inaequaliter divisi, apice viriduli; folia pa-
rum torquata, lato-lanceolata, valde rugulosa, nervo
crasso, ferruginèo, profunde canaliculato, in mucro-
nulum reilexiusculum excurrente, alis basi convexis,
margine inferne parum involuto ¿ cellulis inferite
rhomboidalibus incrassatis, superne rotundatis mi-
pericliaetialia parnm exserta, majora, latiora,
longitudinaliter plicata, non ru-
cellulis rhombòidalibus laxius areolata,

nervo tenui exeunte; tlieca in pedunciilo longiusculo
anguste-cylìndrica, sulcata, cinnamomea ; operculo
cupulato, longe acuminato, recto; calyptra juvenilis
straminea nitida, dein ferruginea, apice fusca, sca-
briuscula, basi lacerata; peristomii dentes externi
ferruginei, angusti, lanceolati, opaci, scaberrimi,
interni pallidi, externos longitudine aequantes.
Patria. Brasilia, insula Sta. Catharina, ubi in
sylvis primaevis ad truncos arborum prope Desterro
et ad Rio do Cauro. Febr.—Martio 1851 legit P ab s t.
Schloth. Martianae Hrnscli. affinis, sed theca
sulcata jam recedens; A Sdii, nitida foliis peri-
chaetialibus longe acuminatis diversa.
