United States of America. Indiana. Monroe Co. 9 km SE of center of Bloomington. Parking area for fishing, at E. Stipp Road, W edge of Lake Monroe, an artificial lake.

Habitat
With deciduous forest with some Pinus strobus on slope above road and fringe fo tree, including Diospyros virginiana, and shrubs below the road, where the water occasionally rises.

Description
Single-trunked treelet 4 m. tall, 6 cm. in diameterl bark coarsely furrowed. Flowers very faintly and sweetly fragrant(9:00 A.M., sunny), visited by small bumblebees. Male; flowers smaller than those of female, Nee 56375; corolla white with yellowish limb. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
