Chusquea tangled Weinmannia-Miconia forest with trees
to 10 m or above. The canopy is densely covered with
epiphytic bryophytes. 2900-3000 m. Virgilio seriously
cut his hand with a machete early this day. gn ultimate
twigs and branches. Rare on the ground in forest. Leaves
reddish tinted. Ca. 3250 m.
