Along the Rio Calachaca Ijahuira in thé area within 1 km in
radius from the aguas termales. 8 km NW from Choquetanga.
67° 23' W., 16° 48' S.
Treeland and grassland habitats at treeline. Woodland
consist of Hesperomeles, Miconia, Barnadesia, Baccharis,
etc. Extensive bogs present, and mosses in extensive sheets
over bare cliffs. Boulders are mostly granitical. Woodland
edges and small trees along the river (which also may be considered
woodland edge). First known fertile specimens. Abundant on boulders in
woodland. The red to red-brown color is distinctive and formsnsharp
lines where it maets Anacolia lævisphæra. Ca. 3500 m.
