    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 3 km "above," or upstream, Rio Madeira from the village of Abunã, on the eastern shore of Rio Madeira. Using Google Maps - Earth View, located the approximate geographic center of the shore of Abunã (along Rio Madeira). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure approximately 3 km (3.01 km) upstream (toward the headwaters), then used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates, on the eastern shore. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool again to find the linear extent of the starting location, of the village of Abunã by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the village to the nearest named place on the same side of Rio Madeira, village of El Borach, then halving this distance. Input coordinates, linear extent (4.02802 km), measurement error (.005 km), and distance precision (1 km) to find the uncertainty radius.
