Fronds small, seldom more that 3 cm. long and 1 cm. wide, verv thin
spatulate with short stipes, tapering quickly into a flat membrane
with slightly wavy, entire margin, dark purple or maroon; cells small;
structure fragile and rapidly deca3'ing.
Growing on Zostera.
