Description
Pileus: (12-) 22-56 (-70) mm, convex to hemispheric, becoming plane, distinctly plicate-sulcate, depressed at disc, dark orange-brown (6E7-7E7), fading to pale brown (6D6); slowly hygrophanous; margin incurved, becoming uplifted. Context extremely thin; odor mild. Stipe: 31-65 x (1-) 3-7 (-13) mm, terete to flattened, equal, often becoming basally tapered, long and somewhat slender to robust and basally tapered; distinctly longitudinally fibrous; fibers concolorous with pileus, over white ground. Basal mycelium scant, white.Hymenophore: Lamellate. Lamellae adnate to short-decurrent, moderately broad, slightly thickened, pale pinkish orange to nearly concolorous with pileus. Comments: Large, plicate-sulcate pilei; stipes robust when mature.
