    Pileus: 6-9 mm, convex, densely matted subtomentose, dark brick red (9D8), becoming aereolate (over pale red ground) in age. margin incurved, white; becoming decurved. Context white; staining blue in young specimens; odor mild. Too little material for tasting.Stipe: 8-18 x 1-2 mm, equal, terete to sinuous, solid (hollow in one specimen), with bright red fibrils over a bright yellow ground. Context yellow, staining blue. Basal mycelium yellowHymenophore: Poroid, adnate; pores round to slightly angular; 2 per mm; pale or bright yellow when young, becoming nearly white; pore mouth faintly red in some young specimens; tubes yellow, becoming white.Macrochemical Reaction: Pileus, stipe bright yellow in ammoniaComments: Yellow pores in young specimens; blue staining indicate that this species is not a Tylopilus; however, white mature hymenophore appears Tylopilus-like.
