between VC02 and VC201, N 35° 51.343' W 106° 31.658' 8800 ft.

Habitat: 0-15% slopes; open Pondersoa pine - spruce forest with grassy-
sedgey understory

Associated spp: Pinus pondersoa, Picea engelmannii, P. pungens, Danthonia
parryi, Juniperus communis, Carex xerantica, Carex spp., Festuca thurberi,
Elymus, Erigeron subtrinervis

Notes: rhizomatous perennial; rays blue; Inner pappus with setae, outer with
bristles
