  • Description

    Pileus to 63 mm dia, broadly subumbonate or shallowly depressed on dsic, margin decurved, edge incurved (narrowly), finely radially innately streaked, ground color on margina rich warm buff to dull yellowish buff with brownish tones, disc and inner margin more brownish (but with warm buff undertones, in age brownish with reddish brown areas (general color more or less bright and shiny, near light Ochraceous Tawny. Taste bitter. Flesh in stipe and pileus white, stains yellowish to brownish yellow ins tipe. Lamellae beautiful violet, more or less crowded, to 22 mm long, to 5.5 mm wide, in age deep brown with rusty coating on faces from spores, adnexed, seceding with age. Stipe up to 85 mm long, apex to 14 mm, base to 20 mm, bulbous with rim, rounded below, more or less oblique or slightly depressed above rim, basal mycelium and bulb whitish with ochraceous stains, in age stronger ochraceous to yellowish or ornagish. Veil above bulb whitish but stains ochraceous, surface above base white but occasionally with lilac tones on lower stipe. 20% KOH - bright red in stipe base.
