UTAH, Summit Co., Uinta Mts., Murdock Mt., W-facing slopes above Bald Mtn. Pass, just E of Hwy. 150, ca. 50 air mi. E of Salt Lake City. Rocky slopes just above timberline, elev. 10,900 ft., NW-facing 30% slope, soil pockets in rubble of metamorphosed sandstone, 40% bare ground, 30% exposed rock. With dominants: Carex, Polygonum bis- torto ides, Potentina, Sibbaldia procum- bens, Silene acaulis, Erigeron leiomerus, Solidago multiradiata; also with Poa alpina, Festuca ovina, Selaginella, moss.
