Guernewood Park, Sonoma County, in the Transition Zone.
Growing on a steep and rocky south slope.

Taproot strong, perennial, the annual stems from its summit
numerous, erect or ascending. E. viscidulus Greene, Pitt. i. 174
(1888) and FI. Fr. 394 (1897), described as “only a few inches
high, ’ ’ may he another species.
