232. Erigeron Hartwegi Greene, Eryth. 3:21. 1895.

Bear River at Gautier Bridge, northern Placer County, on the
westerly slope of the Sierra Nevada along the border between
Upper Sonoran and Transition Zones, at an altitude of 400 m.

Growing between roeks along the river. Sometimes asso-
ciated with Briokellia caZifornica and Leptotaenia anomala, while on
the slopes grow Quercus Kelloggii, Quercus chrysolepis, Ceanothus
integerrimus, Pinus ponderosa, P. Sabiniana, etc.

Stems erect from a very short decumbent base. Ligules 30
to 40, lavender.
