FLORA OF SOUTHCENTRAL. NEW
NORTHCENTRAL OTERO CO.

Camera lucida drawings iscale: 2.2mm = lum) of a pollen
mother cell during hetaphase I of meiosis (top). Also
drawn are mature «icrosporocytes to show the variety of
results seen. Of the mature microsporocytes surveyed, 91
resulted in dyads, 30 resulted in triads. The 'triad-
potential cells' had a small mass of chromatin at the
periphery of the Hetaphase I plate. 10 resulted in tetrads
of which 3 were normal looking and 7 contained 2 normal-
sized cells plus 2 greatly reduced cells.
