Herbage with coarse multicellular trichomes to 1.3 mm long; phyllaries subequal, 1-nerved; disc corollas puberulent with sharp-pointed hairs; pistillate florets 50-70, with white (at anthesis) iigules to 1 mm wide; pappus bisenate with short scales and an inner series of 6-9 barbellate bristles; cypselae 2-nerved.
