Spellenberg 28 July 1980 ALBERTA, Banff National Parkf ca. 2 mi W of Hwy 93 ca. 60 mi N of Banff, slopes SE of Peyto Lake; Tp 32, Rl8r in the central portion. Subalpine spruce zone at around 7250 ft. elev. Wind bald, very rocky, gentle NW-facing slope and ridge top. Soil very shallow. With dominants: Potentilla, Dryas oct- opetala; also Empetrum, Festuca ovina Tr isetum spicatum, Arctostaphylos uva- ursi, silene; mosses and lichens aoundant. Distribution: NY 02078825
