Wisconsin, Richland Co., 3 miles SE of Richland
Center. T 10 N; R 1 E; NE^NWi sect. 35.

Bottom of Pine River valley, just above the
floodplain. Cultivated and abandoned fields,
fencerows, railroad tracks, all formerly low
prairie or marsh.

Erect herbs, the crushed plant rankly and
unpleasantly aromatic. In field abandoned a
few years ago, with Convza canadensis,
Polygonum sagittatum, Solidago, Setaria faberi.
Phyllaries sometimes tinged with purple.
