Habitat
In roadside ditch with Polygonum punctatum, P. hispidum. Flat, clay soil, mostly cleared for sugar cane and other crops, with patches of brush and remnant forest with Attalea phalerata (Scheelea princeps).

Description
Either erect single stems with large leaves, or forming branched shrubs to 2 m. tall and with much smaller leaves. Crushed foliage rankly aromatic. Flowers odorless; corolla pale lilac with yellow throat changing to darker violet. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
