Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic midpoint of the stretch of Maroa - Yavita road west of the approximate geographic center of the airport in Maroa, Amazonas, Venezuela. Used Google Maps - Earth View to locate the Maroa airport and the stretch of road west of the airport. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line from where the road comes nearest to the approximate geographic center of the airport to the approximate end of the road (in the city of Maroa at border of Río Guainia), then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the Maroa - Yavita road nearest to the midpoint of the line; used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate midpoint of the road west of the airport. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of this section of road. Input coordinates, linear extent (1060.0 m), and measurement error (10 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
