Description
Pileus 34-56 mm, convex becoming plane, densely matted subtomentose, dark brown (7F5) over pinkish base. Context white, staining dark red, then black, when cut. Odor and taste mild. Hymenophore poroid; pores nearly round, 1-3 per mm, pale creamy yellow, bruising dark reddish brown, becoming pale pinkish brown (7D5) to nearly black in age. Tubes concolorous. Stipe 40-59 x 7-11 mm, solid, equal, densely minute-pruinose, black; brown or pale.
