  • Habitat

    Along the creek which flows in a 0-5 m deep gulch. Banks are of metamorphic rock. The slopes are mostly grassland with some shrubs. Along the creek are forest edges of Weinmannia, Hesperomeles and Baccharis. On isolated metamorphic boulders in grasslands. Rare on boulder sides.

    The brigh [bright] red. Flagellate stems with golden leaves are distinctive.
