Hill prairie with Andropogon gerardi, Antennaria,
Aristida, Carex spp., Dichanthelium oligosanthes,
Echinacea pallida, Helianthemum, Ruellia humilis,
Tridens flavus. Rather common perennial, deep-rooted;
past flower but rays persistent, pinkish.
