Description
Pileus 3-9 cm broad, convex to plane, viscid-glutinous but soon dry, hygrophanous, glabrous to obscurely matted fibrillose, brown (6E8) to orange brown (5B8,7). Flesh pale yellow to greenish yellow to brownish yellow, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Lamellae adnexed, close, yellow (3A5,4) to yellowish orange (4B7), soon rusty brown, with even to uneven edges. Stipe 6.5-10.5 cm long, strict or slightly curved, subequal, becoming slightly broader in midportion, then tapering to an obtuse point, dry pale greenish yellow to greenish yellow, fibrillose and satiny shiny, with pale greenish yellow cortina soon collapsing and not leaving well-defined remnants, deeply rooting in sand, with interior pale greenish yellow to brownish yellow, pithy, becoming hollow.
