Description
Subsect. Luridi. Pileus 2.5-4.5 cm broad, dry, finely areolate, deep red to red, convex to plano-convex. Flesh bright yellow, cyanescent, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow, cyanescent, with pores red, cyanescent. Stipe curved and equal, 3-5.5 cm long, 5- 9 mm broad, dry, dark deep red, densely subpruinose to nearly subvelutinous, cyanescent, with pale olive tomentum at base, with interior yellow becoming dark red with age, hardly cyanescent.
