Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 11 km along Estrada do Quixadá in Mun. Rio Branco, Acre. Using Google Earth and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Estrada do Quixadá in Rio Branco, Acre. Beginning at the approximate start of Estrada do Quixadá (intersection of Estrada do Quixadá and Estrada do São Francisco) in the city of Rio Branco, used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 11 km (11.0001 km) along the road toward Quixadá. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset along the road. Used the Distance Measurement Tool again to find the approximate linear extent of the starting location, the intersection of Estrada do Quixadá and Estrada do São Francisco, by measuring from the geographic center of the intersection to the farthest extent of the intersection. Input coordinates, linear extent (0.02085 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
