Texas. Pecos Co.: Tunis Spring, 20 miles
east of Ft. Stockton, U.S. Hwy. 290. Very
abundant at the spring.

This is in the area of Escondido spring and
if it is the same, it is the type locality
for Carduus austrinus Small, a synonym of
C. texanum.
