  • Habitat

    Steeply incised drainage line forming small gorge, low in landscape, gentle slope, northern aspect. Open scrub with emergent Eucalyptus. Under Open grass of Cymbopogon sp. Eulalia fulva under Acacia citrinoviridis, Acacia sp. Common. 100+ plants, numerous seedlings observed. Red gritty, silty, damp soil with lots of river bed pebbles and over massive sandstone.

    Herb to 35 cm tall, in bud to early and full flower, flowers pink/mauve at anthesis... observed numerous visits to inflorescence by two species of butterfly. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Colchicaceae
Herb to 35 cm tall, in bud to early and full flower, flowers
pink/mauve at anthesis and turning white with age, fragrant
sweet scent associated with inflorescence, growing in open
situations, leaves fleshy and bright green, no nectaries visible.
Tepals appear to be free, tuber to 15 cm below soil surface.
Growing in red gritty, silty, damp soil with lots of river bed
pebbles and over massive sandstone, steeply incised drainage
line forming small gorge, low in landscape, gentle slope,
northern aspect. Growing in Open Herbfield with Polycarpaea
longiflora and Centipedia minima under Open Grass of
Cymbopogon sp. and Eulalia fulva under Acacia citrinoviridis -
Acacia sp. (SVL 1768) Open Scrub with emergent Eucalyptus ?
camaldulensis.
Abundance: common, 100+ plants, numerous seedlings and
vegetative plants seen, observed numerous visits to
inflorescence by two species of butterfly. (KARR.: SPIRIT)
