carpment of the Mesa Verde below and above
the road to the summit, alt. ca. 7600 ft.

On steep, unstable slopes, gray soil ap-
parently partly of shale. Perennial, the
numerous plants with several stems from
the oaudex; stems 20-36 in. tall in the
stoutest plants; corollas pinkish-lavender.
