Flora of the Paumonek Wetland, Long Island
Cichorium intybus L.

NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek
Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School, on the south side of
Jericho Turnpike, about 1 m south of the road. Growing near a ditch or
vernal rain water stream. To about 1.5 m tall. Flowers blue or white. At
the edge of an Oak-Hickoiy Mesic Woodland with Impatiens capensis,
Rubus phoenicolasius, Rosa multiflora, Alliaria petiolata, Aralia elata,
Prunus, and Artemisia vulgaris.
