Leon County: locally abundant in longleaf
pine-scrub oak sand ridge, chiefly in openings
and along edges. Apalachicola National Forest,
1 m E of Dog Lake along Dog Lake Tower Road,
generally to the SW of Tallahassee, some
associates: Pinus palustriS, Q. laevis,
incana, Licania michauxii, Liatris chapmanli,
Aristida stricta, Pteridiuffl aquilinum, VacCir
nium stamineum, Polygonella gracilisSmilax
auriculata.
