Habitat: Scarce in sage steppe on brown sandy soil.
Sunny southeast aspect. Area grazed by cattle.

Flowers white fading to pinkish-white. Several thousand
plants in 20 m diameter area.

With Amsinckia tessellata, Stipa cornata, Bromus
tectorum, Sphaeralcea
