Tree to 4 m x 15 cm; trunk contorted;
bark patchy in various shades of grey;
leaves mid-green; flowers bright yellow,
the standard speckled orange. Fast
moving bees (Centris spp.) in attendance
in bright sun between 1-2 pm - short
visits per flower. Small butterflies
and robber bees stealing nectar.
