Cultivated in perennial bed in backyard.

Seed obtained from Park Seed Co. (Greenwood, South Carolina) in Aug
1991; sown in flats on 2 Mar 1992; germination began on 20 Mar 1992.
Seedlings transplanted to 3-inch peat pots on 28 Mar 1992; planted out
on 29 Apr 1992. Flowering began 10 Jul 1992.

Herbaceous perennial, 0.5 m tall; peripheral florets blue-violet, central
ones red-purple.
