Two km. east of Jolon, in the South Coast Ranges of southern
Monterey County, in the Upper Sonoran Zone.

Growing in hard gravelly and stony soil on exposed rolling
summits, associated chiefly with grasses which are now dried up
especially Bromus hordeaceus.	’

Ligules dull white, occasionally with a flush of pink.

Ray-flowers 2 to 4. Bracts of the receptacle 6 to 8. Disk-
flowers 6 to 14.
