Arnoglossum atriplicifolium (L.) H.Rob.

Restored prairie, Sorghastrum nutans the grass
dominant.

Herb, 1-2 m tall; heads whitish (ivory), fading to very
light green. Typically a deep-soil prairie and oak
opening species, now rare in southern Wisconsin
(see Cochrane & litis 2000, Atlas Wisconsin Prairie &
Savanna FI.).

This prairie was reconstructed by Jerry
Schwarzmeier, who told TSC. that he did not plant
this species. Either it was planted by Jim Zimmerman,
or else it was in the seed bank or came in by itself.
