2). Mescal Creek 7.5' USGS quadrangle; T3N R8W,

SE/4 SE/4 SE/4 NE/4 section 6; elev. ca 6760 feet.

Steep easterly slope of schistose scree (draining to
Vincent Gulch), just above the road. Locally common
suffrutescent perennial; florets yellow; with Monardella
linoides stricta, Eriogonum nudum, Zauschneria
californica latifolia, Penstemon grinnellii, Mentzelia
laevicaulis, Cordylanthus rigidus, Potentilla glandulosa
etc.
