Asteraceae Brickellia californica (Torrey & A.Gray) A.Gray SAN GABRIEL MTNS: S side of the Blue Ridge, 0.6 mi E of Vincent Gap along the Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2). Mescal Creek 7.5' USGS quadrangle; T3N R8W, SE/4 SE/4 SE/4 NE/4 section 6; elev. ca 6760 feet. Steep easterly slope of schistose scree (draining to Vincent Gulch), just above the road. Locally common suffrutescent perennial; florets yellow; with Monardella linoides stricta, Eriogonum nudum, Zauschneria californica latifolia, Penstemon grinnellii, Mentzelia laevicaulis, Cordylanthus rigidus, Potentilla glandulosa etc. Tim Ross 3129 17 August 1990 02028305
