Air Force Base; about 3.5 miles east southeast of
Shiloh, west side of Silver Creek between airport taxi
runway and Norfolk Southern Railway. Lebanon 7.5
minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation 410-430 feet.
Alluvial soil, moist to wet clay loam, stream - river
terrace.

Floodplain forest, relatively undisturbed and diverse,
with Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Quercus spp. Cary a
laciniosa, Acer saccharinum, Ilex decidua,
Cephalanthus occidentalism Cornus drummondii. R;
white to pinkish in age, disc yellow; infrequent
scattered glaucous perennial herb 1 meter tall, marg
of sunny swamp opening with Peltandra virginica,
Lycopus rubellus, Scutellaria lateriflora, Polygom
punctatum.
