United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: Long Valley; Owens River edge, appx. 2km northwest of Benton Crossing. Fisherman's access gate nearby. (Whitmore Hot Springs quad).

Habitat
Actively grazed banks and meadow above meanders of river. Streambanks of dense thatch of Carex nebrascensis, Juncus balticus, Hordeum spp., Glaux maritima, Cirsium scariosum, Iris missouriensis, Sisyrinchium halophilum. Saltgrass meadows dominated by Distichlis spicata, Pyrrocoma lanceolata. Occasional dense colonies in flowing river. Soft fine pumice soil, becoming alkaline.

Description
White emergent flowers in still water by streambanks. Stems usually anchored on submerged rocks. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
