ASTERACEAE

Bidens

Erect herb, up to 60 cm high. Stems angular, narrowly
winged, green. Leaves green, central vein paler. Outer
row of involucral bracts green; inner row brown green
with yellowish margins; tubular flowers yellow;
filaments and pistil yellow; anthers brown. Fruits black
with light brown hairs and apical spines.

Elfin forest, top of Mt. Scenery, beside the fence of the
radio station.

Moist soil, partly shaded by trees.
