    Ecuador. Zamora Chinchipe. El Pangui (Canton). Cordillera del Cóndor region, Río Wawaime watershed, tributary of Río Quimi. Below site of proposed EcuaCorriente copper mine, on ridge near 1-ha forest inventory "Wawaime Plot".

  • Habitat

    Tall cloud forest on ridge. On substrate of mixed sand and clay soil, below sandstone plateau.

  • Description

    Small tree 4 m tall, with trunk 4 cm diameter. Calyx green. Corolla ivory-white on lobes, shading to pale yellow-green at base of corolla. Corolla lobes reflexed to 90-degree angle with tube. Anthers dark brown. Immature fruits yellow-green. Dried, mature capsules dehisce from apex to base, with persistent styles, dark brown. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
